While Dad is Away the Girls Will Play!

While Mike was in Colorado, Aldyn and I kept busy having some fun of our own. On Thursday night Aunt Mollie came over to keep us company, and we had a great time hanging out with her. On Friday we went to Wallace to visit Grandpa and Grammy for the weekend. Aldyn always loves all the attention she gets while we're there, and I love just being at home and relaxing. We went to a wedding reception on Saturday night and to church on Sunday, so got to see some familiar faces. Aldyn's new favorite thing to do is chew on her toes, and we discovered that she likes to skinny dip! Guess I could've saved a little $ on that cute little bikini I bought her. We both enjoyed some time in the pool - it was such a great way to cool off on those hot, hot days!

An abandoned truck...once it rolled there was no getting it out.
Quite a view!

Mike and a few guy friends went on their 4th annual dirtbiking trip to Woodland Park, CO last weekend. I'm pretty sure they look forward to this and plan all year (they're worse than women), but it must be worth it, because they sure have a good time! This year they took a few video clips so the rest of us could get a taste of what it's like. I have to admit, I got a good laugh when he got home and showed them to me. We thought we'd post them here for the rest of you to enjoy as well!

The first video is Brad Hartzog attempting to make it up a hill...watch and it's self explanatory :)

The second video is Mike's 4th (and worst) attempt at a hill that he tells me was quite steep. Apparently the guys didn't think he could do it, so you know Mike, he just had to give it a whirl!
I guess there's always next year, something tells me he'll be looking for some hills to climb around here - oh dear!

And sorry Craig, what happens in Colorado doesn't stay in Colorado, it gets published on the web for the world to see!

4 months old

Miss Aldyn turned 4 months old yesterday, and I can hardly believe it! In that time, she has totally changed our little world. Life used to be fairly predictable, and we never planned too far ahead. That has all changed, but I don't think life could get any better. My heart melts when she looks right at me and "talks" and her little giggles are priceless! She is truly a blessing.

Her four month birthday was a busy one. We started it with a visit to the Dr. for a check-up and shots. She now weighs 12 lbs. and 7 oz., and is 24 inches long. She checked out well, and we're thankful for that. After meeting Mike for lunch, she and I headed to Wilcox to visit Great Grandpa Hersh and Great Grandma Edna along with Grammy and Grandpa! We had a fun time with them, and then headed to Cozad to watch Robby play baseball. It was a beautiful evening and she enjoyed being outside and getting so much attention...and was a pretty happy girl for getting 4 shots earlier in the day! On Thursday we went to see Great Grandma Elaine for a while and had a great time visitng with her!

Fun Times

We all spent Sunday evening at Frank & Karen's house and had a great time. It was so beautiful outside, so after supper we spent some time outdoors. The kids were riding their scooter, bike, and hotwheel, so Mike got his old motorcycle out and joined them. They got a kick out of that! He gave some rides and we were able to get some cute pictures.

only Gunnar knows what this means, he was flashing us this "sign" all night, but wouldn't reveal the secret...

Long Awaited Introduction

Aldyn is a lucky girl to know so many of her great grandparents, and they are all so special to us. Last week she finally got to meet Great Grandpa John and Great Grandma Charlotte Gabrielson, who traveled all the way from Clovis, CA to see her! We had a wonderful time while they were here, and they got to spend some quality time getting acquainted with Aldyn.

Fun with Family

As you can see, I'm not very prompt in updating, I haven't gotten back to the blog since I created it in May! I hope to do a little bit better from now on, but no promises!
It has been a busy July so far for little Aldyn Grace! We went to cousin Skylar's t-ball tournament and visited Great Grandma Marge last Sunday. On Monday Aldyn and I went out to Wallace to spend a few days with Grammy and Grandpa. On Wednesday, Matt, Wendy, Lainey, Sophie and Sawyer came to visit! On Thursday, the rest of the clan joined us...Mollie, Adam and Mike. I thought I would share a few pictures from various activities.
