I have been promising that we would go to the park on a nice day for quite some time, and today was the day! It was so perfect. We took some bread for the ducks, and what the girls didn't eat, they shared with the swans and ducks. I cannot figure out why stale bread tastes so good at the park, but for some reason my girls always insist on eating it! We are blessed with a beautiful park to enjoy. We had to head home early because the girls' bed was being delivered today, and it's being assembled as I type. Aldyn is beyond excited, and I'm sure when Emme figures out just what's going on she will be equally thrilled. So, this means that tonight will be the first night the girls will share a room, and Emme's first night out of the crib. Praying for a smooth transition! I would love to share a picture or two in this post, but for some reason, I can't do that from my iPad. If anyone out there knows how and wants to share I'd be so excited! I love my iPad, but to be honest it is probably the reason I haven't blogged much recently. I think that posts are way more fun when pictures are included, and since mike gave me the ipad for my bday, he has taken over the laptop for work purposes, so I never get around to posting pics, ugh :(.

7 quick takes
It's been so inspiring to read so many blog posts lately. I love all the creativity and insight that can be shared this way. I just have 7 random quick takes...
1. Aldyn sings all.the.time. I love it...except when it's loud and in my face :)What I love most about it though is that almost all of her songs are her own version of praise songs. My mom pointed this out a while back and since I have noticed that she's right, and it's so precious. She likes to make up her own lyrics, stealing a line from a song here or there. Her grandma and grandpa gave her a little karaoke machine for Christmas, and oh my does that girl love a microphone and some volume.
2. Emme is talking more and more. She can frequently be heard calling for one of us, and when we answer she says, "are you?" or "doin?" There's something so cute about it. She also is in the self-tattling phase. I'll ask her after picking her up from somewhere, "were you good?" she always answers with a yes, and then adds "hitting" and if I do a little investigating I usually find out she's telling the truth....she does enjoy testing her big sis by throwing in a few cheap shots now and again.
3. I'm loving the new year. I'm not big on resolutions, but it feels so good to start fresh on things. I think maybe a little nesting is kicking in already...I've been doing some organizing (and lots left to do) but i love checking things off a list and feeling like I'm accomplishing something! I actually have to be careful, because I like this a little too much and can easily get consumed and start ignoring my girls or missing little moments with them. Oh balance...some day I long to know you!
4. Speaking of resolutions, our Bible study group is starting the year with a new book, called The Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer. My friend Lori went to a conference this fall and heard her speak and brought the book home. I just got my copy today and read a few pages. I think it's going to be amazing. It's kind of tied to the movie Courageous, if you haven't seen it yet, you should. I'm excited to meet with the gals tomorrow and start discussing what we've read so far.
5. If you see me and I'm talking with a lisp, it's because I got some molds yesterday to help straighten my teeth out. They are driving.me.crazy! I had braces as a teen and forgot just how uncomfortable they were. I'm totally self conscious too, so wait til u walk away to make fun of me :)
6. Loving this amazing weather, I'm grilling steaks for supper tonight and the girls have been loving playing outside lately. We got a swing set from some friends who were wanting to part with theirs since their kids had outgrown it...such a blessing. It's not fancy, and well-used, but the girls could care less and could spend hours playing on it. We did a little trade, so fun when things work out like that.
7. All that being said, I'm ready for a little snow too...especially if I'm cozy at home where I can truly enjoy it! I'm a big fan of lazy winter nights by the fire :)
